WooHoo!! i'm now a Conservation Ambassador.. =)
2 days of training.. 2 saturdays gone, burnt when it should really have been spent studying and cramming notes into my head.. was it worth it really? of cuz it was!! every min was worth the while.. and its free admission to the zoo AND discounts off every FnB in there!! including BnJ!! those sinful scoops of ice cream slashed its prices by 35% around there! from $4.50 a scoop to $2.95 a scoop! we also enjoyed 15% discount at KFC, its like wow! which is really not much of a diff if u shop at cheers there.
anyways.. i went to the Zoo together with 3 other MJcian namely Rujin Jiayi and Rashidah. the first day wasnt really much on the content we had to read up on, but more of a behind the scenes tour of what goes on in the Zoo. its an eye opener really, the places of the Zoo u never knew existed. the coolest had to be the storage room where they kept the dead animals for autopsy. lucky for us.. ok maybe not so, a really large phyton was there and was really close to the zookeeper who brought us around. no.. she didn break down and cry or that sort of things. my guess would be that the phyton was one of the star attraction of the Zoo or Night Safari for the zookeeper to know it by name. then again.. i could be wrong.
so the first day came and went, BnJ was a calling, the notes we had to study wasnt. we were given 2 stacks of notes of which we had to study and further read up on the topics in it in preparation of the test they were going to give us. the role of a conservation ambassador was to act somewhat like a tour-guide to visitors who would like to know more of what they are viewing and to spread conservation messages to them, hoping that they will make a difference and realize the problems facing the environment today. the 2 exhibits are Australian Outback and Fragile Forest. the exhibit we were to be tested on were to be released on the test day itself.. [terrific, more things to mug over the week]
test day soon came.. friendship with fellow CAs are forged.. i got to know 2 girls who are studying in University now, charmaine and michelle. and they too were assigned to the same exhibit to be tested on as us! haha.. so this was how the test will go.
we will each individually bring the group[the CAs to be] around the exhibit and pretend we were doing the actual thing already, and complete the tour. to do so.. we had to walk round the same exhibit 4 times to allow everyone to be tested. boring right? apparently not.. fragile forests has a biodome which butterflies of different species roam about freely..


they say i'm the butterfly man.. another nickname to add for the list.. haha.. the butterflies seemed attracted to me for some reasons, tourists started to take photos of the butterflies which landed on my back and my shoulder and bag, and face.. ya really.. face. the photo's proof of it.

the day was 14july.. a cool morning as i headed down to dmn for peer tutoring.. i didn intend to tell anyone it was bdae that day.. it wont be sincere if u get what i mean.. but to know that your NCC mates and those present at the tutoring still remembered this special day.. its really touching..
then for your cell grp mates to remember and even treat you to a movie[harry potter] brighten me up even more.. the torrents of sms wishing me happy birthday made me smile from ear to ear all day long..
the main highlight however was the 6 Faith '02 gathering.. its been 5years since i last saw some of them.. and to have it planned on my bdae was a plain coincidence, still they made it a point to celeb it =).. thanks u all! seeing u all again is really a pleasure.. to be able to get back in touch with u all is even better, to enjoy the fireworks of the NDP parade under the starry sky was a bonus.. to have donuts as a birthday cake and sharing with my friends.. priceless.. so here are the pictures..












nothing could really express juz how nice it was to see all of u again.. 5long years since we parted.. since i said my goodbyes to u all after getting my PSLE results.. for many.. we saw each other during teacher's day 2years back.. never since.. thanks liling for keeping us in contact and organising this special outing.. thanks u all for making this bdae one to remember.. nothing could compare to having my bdae celeb by all of u.. a diverse bunch of people out to have fun and a peculiar sense of humour.
having said that.. i really hope we can all stay in touch.. in any means.. be it sms or friendster.. it doesen matter, i juz hope to see u all again 5years down the road.. or if possible.. in the coming months.. really enjoyed my day with u all... =)
once more.. thanks for making this day a special one for me and all of u..

A night of fun.. and fun.. well.. juz a whole load of fun.. its one of those rare occasions whereby my parents allowed my to return home late.. despite me having to reach the Zoo the next morning at 8.30am.. wait.. did i even rmb to tell them abt that bit? lol..
the BBQ for the seniors farewell had been changed so many times.. from 17june.. to 30 june.. and finally settled on 6july.. i had to amend my hectic schedules so many times!
anyways.. soccer was definitely on the agenda.. haha.. apparently.. before i got there.. someone kicked it into the sea.. and it drifted so far out.. thankfully.. or rather.. miraculously a man kayaking was kind enough to return to us! so kind of him!! but i feel bad.. while we were playing.. the girls and guys not had to do the cooking.. gosh.. felt so guilty.. o well.. at least i know i helped start the fire.. =P
and whoever said we played only soccer.. hmm

ok.. so i do miss my NCC days a lil too much..
so on to the proper..
i arrived at 9.30 deliberately.. knowing that people would definitely be late for the 9am meeting time.. surprise surprise.. no one was there.. i was kinda shock really.. normally people would be late for a max of 30min.. o well.. guess it is hard to get up on a youth day holiday. yf and liying were the first to arrive and so we went all the way to harborfront center so the both of them could withdraw money as they were short in cash. and also of cuz to pass the time while waiting for the rest to arrive.. Food Republic was a calling as we soon met up and had our early.. ok VERY early lunch there.. i got myself a whole chicken rice set, complete with the veggies. well.. actually all the guys did.. lol.. even still it was not enuf as i would soon find out at sentosa..
it was decided.. we would take the sentosa express and train down to sentosa! we were finally gonna have our fun filled day there! gene brought his Frisbee, i got my soccer ball and tammie got her camera!! yeah!
