Imperfection is Perfection

As contradicting as the statement may sound.. it is true if you ponder over it for a bit.. take this for an example.. mountains and hillsides.. when scutinised reveals a rather horrendous sight.. with scars and sharp edges jutting out from all corners, uneven paths marr our efforts in scaling them, the grey-silver of the surface is void of any plant life. then again.. when looked at from afar.. we are mesmerized by it, captivated by its beauty and majesty. they make up our horizon and embed themselves in our scenery making the landscape a joy to look at each morning.
another example would be Mount Fuji. is it not a dormant volcano that has been rumoured to erupt just some time ago? is not the same mountain which attracts thousands of tourists to its doorstep, earning japan a large amount of tourist money?
one last example for the record yea? i'm taking in what we learn in science now.. metal elements itself are strong this i will not agree.. existing in their pure form of elements.. but simply by adding atoms of other elements[larger atoms]..the metal become stronger and is harder to melt or moved out of shape.. this is due to the presence of these foreign atoms which resists the movement of atoms present in the metal as there is irregularity in the structure.. thus the metal becomes an alloy and no longer a pure metal.. Imperfection is Perfection.
this very much applies to us too.. being perfect.. what is it literally? as a 16year old.. a perfect person our age would be one who scores well in his examinations with straight As, one who does not make any trouble, one who never talks in class, one who is never late for lessons, one who obeys every word their parents ask them to, etc.. but wouldn't that be a boring life? this i am sure even parents and teachers would agree unaminously.. the imperfections we have from the PERFECT 16year old is practically what makes us perfect... doing well in our studies not necessarily straight As would be out academic side["perfection"] and our silly anthics that makes our friends laugh and makes us fun to be with, all the suaning.. bitching, scamming, nonsensical jokes, extreme cases of laughter..what i come to know as "jamil disease".. yes he laughed for 30min++ in sec 2..so these would be the "imperfections".. but.. does that make us not the perfect friend? the perfect child? perfect student? nope.. we are perfect.. as long we dun step over our lines and make the "imperfections" extreme.. [refering to the troublemakers]..no offence ppl..
then again.. this is only how i look at it.. from a student's point of view.. what parents and teachers see is yet another story.. but i am sure some of the points mentioned here in this entry crosses with the expectations set by our "superiors".
and so the countdown continues.. O lvls looms closer once more with just a little more than 3months before practicals commences.. marking the start of the biggest exams in our life yet.. ALL THE BEST PPL..

Countdowns.. so many to Countdown to.. closest being Sch National Day Celebration which i am going to receive my award and probably the last time i am going to don on my Coveted NO3 Uniform.. sigh.. next would be obviously our nation's 41 Birthday.. a day for all to remember and celebrate out achivements and victory against all odds in all aspects of life..
thirdly would be to my prelims.. 35days before the start of the English Paper.. 35 more days.. how fast exactly has time passed? sometimes i wonder to myself if i had given my all into studyin for this examinations.. one that would determine where and how i will be spending my 3months after the O lvls.. in a JC? or juz to slack around/work... either ways.. i realised in one way or another.. there has been significant improvement in my daily school work and my concentration span is longer then ever.. a sign that i want to do well for my O lvls? or just the result of ridding a heavy burden off my back.. one that has shifted my focus upon the wrong things.. one that made me have my priorities wrong.. one that made me harbor evil thoughts.. yes... that burden is as bad as it gets.. but now that everything is back to normal, i sincerely hope it will stay this way.. its been a long ardous journey to reconciling with them.. though i know that the incident that sparked the whole thing at the beginnnig of the year was no fault of mine...[yes i stand adamant towards my decision]. wait.. why am i even still brooding over it?
all in all.. this week has been to an extent rather hectic.. 2tests on monday.. 1 today.. 2tml and another on thurs.. my gosh.. so many to study for.. argh.. so yea..i tink u got the message right? i gotta go now.. have to study.. =P.. YES STUDY..

yea!! the whole event was fun joy and loads of laughter..literally..
First off was a song by i cant really remember which teacher.. but i know our OM Mr Yap came on later and sang What a WonderFul World.. with.. MDM ERLIS on the KEYBOARD!! i was totally taken aback! i mean she can play the keyboard??!! my gosh! and she does it so well!!

so i went to watch Pirates of the Caribbean Dead Man's Chest..



i have absolutely no idea why critics give it only 2.5/5 stars... it surely should have deserved at least 4! thats what all of us felt.. [ andre, taariq, pras, wan ting, karen, a'in and myself ]



the whole movie was so filled with jonny depp's funny antics and of course the lame jokes.. i mean really lame.. but funny in a sense.. hahaz..

this day actually turns out to be somewhat interesting for a change.. First Germany won Portugal 3-1[YEAH].. never liked Portugal reason being that they love to dive and feign injury which is really very obvious in the match itself, even the cameras zoom in onto these intances showcasing to the world how big a cheat 4th place portugal really are.. sigh.. tonight will be the big match..
Italy VS France.. im rooting for italy but everyone around me seem to have a habit of having an opposing view with much of those i know supporting France[ from NCC espcially ]



this match will mark the end of a month long craze for soccer.. literally, i have never seen so many girls so crazy over soccer before.. i mean wouldn't you agree?

the cake was simply scrumptous with wad i think is frosted quaker oats as the top layer covered with chocolate moose and finally a banana surprise buried within the cake itself.. it tastes so much better than ice cream cakes.. really!

having been through half a year already.. i must say that my study methods have payed off to a certain extent but is definitely not going to be enough for the home stretch. continuing at this pace would spell doomsday for me. those in 4D.. i am not sure whether u realized i have distanced myself away from you guys but i'm sure i made a statement by sitting alone infront during Phy lecture on thurs. ok maybe not alone sat infront by myself with the 4C girls sitting juz behind me.. at least they prioratise study over socialising so it was rather peaceful except that the AVT was an enclosed area and the sound generated solely by gab's gang was pretty obvious and annoying. nevertheless, i managed to grasp the subject and its sorta at the back of my head right now.. quite an interesting sub, radioactivity..=P
sitting with ya kai, jia hui, hazel during friday's night study was something new for me, taking that i have always been sitting with the NCC ppl which i usually ended up talking all the way, snatching as many buns and drinks before dashing to Air room during breaks.. ok i admit that was fun but i never did put in my all during these lessons.. so i helped ya kai with his compre[didn't know his EL was that bad].

alright.. enough bragging of my life..
i found something interesting on wednesday.. really interesting.. was reaeding a book by Andy McNab Deep Black a book about hunting down a terror group.. it was really interesting that i kept reading for around 2 hours without realizing will my vision became blur through the prolonged reading.. i placed my specs onto the book and wow.. a sign?



Love it truly blind is it not? we find it in places we least expect.. =P

with now less than a week to my birthday.. i seriously wonder what those guys are going to do to me.. whatever it is.. i cant wait to find out.. i mean how bad can it be? [thinks abt wad happened to yu heng] oookkk.. maybe it can be.. AHHH

i know i am late by well.. 4days.. but im gonna blog abt sat again.. yes.. so lets rewind once more shall we?

opening my eyelids.. the reddish orange rays of the sun had penetrated my windows and illuminated my room.. it was already 7am.. my dad had already dressed himself and was downstairs munching on his bread.. all ready to face my school's cross country.. the last for the both of us.. i sincerely hope that this time the both of us walk away with a prize.. unless of cuz.. [OMG why am i harboring this thought!]
either ways.. the temptation of walking through the whole route was overwhelming.. all my NCC.. or rather those who wants to run initially had abandoned the Cross Country and caught a movie instead using SYF as an excuse.. -.-".. then again.. looking at the facts.. sec1 i ran.. sec2 i didnt.. sec3 i ran and nearly won something.. and this time being the last attempt for me.. why not? before my race my dad had already completed his.. coming in second.. wooHoo.. my dad won my chers![he lost to an ex-dunmanite]
running the 4km route aint exactly what i had pictured in my mind.. i was isolated.. no one to pace nor overtake.. well at least till hong zuo came running up to me to say hi? i was stunned.. he actually caught up to say that greeting to me.. wow.. we paced each other throughout the remaining of the race.. only dashing towards the finishing line at the very end.. came in 35th for individual and 6th for pioneer.. not a bad effort actually.. but i lost to Ong Chu Ping?!?![ he was 5th for pioneer]
so thats wraps up one blessing.. the other would be.. i won a Zince Sling Bag worth $35.90!! yeah! for what? subscribing to a magazine.. lol.. teenage.. yeah!

strolling down the long stretch of Changi Airport Terminal 2 on 30June.. i waited for 7pm which we were supposed to meet and eat at Swensen's.. a far shot for us students right.. its a treat by my goood friend Yu Heng.. yup u read right a treat! either ways.. i met up with hector whom was also roaming around the vicinity.. wonder why i didnt bump into him.. and also yu heng.. only ppl left on the guest list were the 2 girls.. hazel and su-lin..

7.05pm [phonecall to su-lin]

Su-lin: huh? oo i still at hazel house!..

me and hector looked at each other wondering what was going on..

after me and hec were informed of this delay.. we just sighed and headed to Times News Link where we grabbed some magazines and juz read em.. came across this interesting book.. "why man marry BITCHES".. wad a crude title.. lol..

those 2 girls finally arrive.. being apologetic and all.. nvm that.. so we went in.. and here are our orders..

Su-Lin: Salmon Baked Rice

+ the grand finale.. Giant Earthquake.. dun expect me to remember all 8 flavours so im not writing em down.. lol..
we were by far the rowdiest group there.. laughing away at the funny enthics of Hazel.. i mean really!! she never fails to liven up the atmosphere.. so spontaneous.. and of cuz.. all her "catchy" phrases... one of which is.. "eee.. so much fats.." another "I full already"[her crayfish pasta not even half done..] LOL.. hector and su-lin ended up cleaning up the plate.. with me and heng eating the crayfish.. hahaz..
Overall.. we had a very eventful day.. not to mention the $125 bill..[feeling guilty].. went home.. with a lot of pics.. spilt between mine, hec and su-lin camera.. yes.. we had 3 cameras.. though i had to endure a lecture from my parents for coming home 15min late..[10.15pm] supposed to be home at 10pm.. o well.. what can u expect? i mean.. 2 gals came an hour late u know.. LOL..
