NCC.. Emotional??


due to the insults i have gotten from my cousins for being "over-enthu" towards NCC... i will establish my point that NCC is indeed an emotional CCA.. as MSG Praba had stated in his blog entry in october last year.. no one would agree except those in the corps itself.. despite the fact that it is made up of all guys [my unit is a prime example]... guys tend to build their emotions from within.. only to show them when it is too much for them to bear.. and just have tell someone.. more often than not... straight in the face they are unhappy with.. throwing all sorts of profanities at them.. this truly shows how emotional a guy can get...
nearly everyone in NCC goes through a near identical journey to attain the RSAF Spec badge as shown above in all its glory..we enter the corps not knowing a single thing abt NCC air other than it is related to air force.. which many of us had joined as we aspire to be pilots.. but that dream was dashed away due to our eye sight.. replaced with the prospect of attaining that coveted lanyard..
personally.. i entered as was intimidated by those who outshone the rest in my batch of 2003.. they showed the standard that our seniors demand or so they claim.. shaping my mindset that i can never do well in NCC.. i harbored the thought of entering badminton but eventually eliminated that thought and focused on NCC.. going full steam towards achieving the rank of 1SG which i proudly don on my uniform.. nevermind the fact that i failed to enter the Senior spec cse.. they are those who are better.. and i admit that.. but what i despise is the fact they dissapear almost just as quickly after they attained the rank of STAFF SGT.. a prime example would be our unit former Admin spec.. after being selected for the cse.. he dissapeared and reappeared once more after a heart to heart talk with his senior.. then after the cse.. MIA.. literally.. our admin was a complete screw up after which.. probably why our unit was caught unprepared a couple of times.. those from land were even surprised to hear of him chosen for the course.. sayin that i am more worthy.. i am not so sure abt that point though.. there is always someone better.. it is a proven fact..
unfortunately what is done cannot be undone.. all i can do now is help my unit to get back as many points as they possibly can and retain our GOLD status.. so that i may relish my dream of entering DMN AIR as a GOLD unit and leaving DMN AIR as a GOLD unit with the sustain achievement award to back that proof..
about the point abt y we have "stepped down" and still meddle with its affairs.. my juniors are still not ready and have not completed the Spec cse.. they will need our guidance in several aspects.. and yes.. i can balance my stuides with my CCA.. its only a matter on how much of my leisure time i am willing to sacrifice.. my answer.. ALL of it..
