One [thing] have I desired of the LORD,
that will I seek after;
that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life,

Neighbourhood Sch or Respected Ones..
Monday, December 12, 2005
wow... its already been a week since i last updated.. my gosh.. didn know it was that loong already....
i refer to the recent article on the choice of a neighbourhood school to that of a respected and highly reagarded such as RI, RGS, DHS, etc.. personally.. im not really all that fussy over the choice of secondary school.. i mean it still leads you towards the same destination.. the dreaded 'O' levels.. or at least that was the case for my year.. ever since i left primary education... the government has implemented several new education options.. most known i would think is the IP programme.. which allows students to skip the 'O's and head straight for the 'A' levels..and is available to all sec 2 students locally... which isnt exactly a bad thing.. comin back to my point.. i recall a newspaper report over a survey amongst parents, students and teachers over what it the most important aspect of a child's education.. and the majority of them voted for character development at abt 50% and education results 5th with only a little more than 15% ... this strenghtens my point further that the choice of school does not matter much...
even so.. this whole debate was started by 2 mere 12yr olds with their PSLE results fresh within their minds.. its amazing how youngsters nowadays are able to spark an issue that eventually brings the media to report on it.. and ironically it causes concern for my generation.. it is now gettin even harder for people like me to get into out preferred JC or course in the Poly.. the cut off point has become lower and lower with each passing year.. not to mention the difficulty of the 'O'lvls paper itself.. gosh... i got a bad feeling that it aint gonna be one happygolucky year for me this comin year as the exams looms before me with each passing day.. haiz..
to all those taking the 'O's with me this year.. good luck to all..
